| Breeder of AKC registered Black, Chocolate and Yellow English Labrador Retrievers in Virginia for show, obedience, agility, hunting and companionship. Situated just minutes east of Fredericksburg, Virginia, BrookHaven Labradors are located at the entrance to the Northern Neck. We are a small, but serious breeding kennel, dedicated to producing quality English Labradors for conformation (showing), obedience, field work and companionship. We purchased our first conformation Labrador from George & Marjorie Satterthwaite of Lawnwood Kennels in 1987. We began showing under the careful guidance of Esther and Doug Bannister of Elmadaban German Shepherd Kennels. We were sponsored into the Labrador Retriever Club of England by Marjorie Satterthwaite and Gwen Broadley (Sandylands). The Air Force took us many places but retirement has now afforded us the opportunity to follow our Labrador Dreams. In 1999 we began preparing to follow our dreams and purchased our first foundation bitch, Brooklands Strawberry Blonde. We bred our first litter in 2004 and have now re-entered the show world after a 20 year absence. Our focus is to breed the MULTIPURPOSE Labrador, whether it be future champion, Master Hunter or a loving companion. All puppies are raised in the house as they are expected to be good citizens, with true Labrador temperament: of an "undying desire to please their humans." BrookHaven offers English Bloodlines, broad and stocky individuals, bred for excellent temperament. All breeding stock is x-rayed clear, and eyes are checked annually. We are members of the Labrador Retriever Club of the Potomac; members of the Labrador Retriever Club of the Chesapeake; members of the Monticello Labrador Club; member and newsletter editor of the Langley Kennel Club (all breed) and Ducks Unlimited. We volunteer time with our local 4H Dog Club as lead Rally-O trainer and assistant Junior Showmanship trainer. |
